Ferrari Working on Special 599 GTO?

The word on the street seems to be that Ferrari is working on a special edition of its powerful V12 599GTB.
The concept, similar to that of the 430 Scuderia, is to make a lighter, more aerodynamic and more powerful 599.
It appears that it could be named the 599 GTO, in honor of the 1960s 250 GTO.
Our friends at MotorAuthority.com say:
The 599’s venerable 6.0-liter V-12 is expected to be pumped up to between 680 and 700 horsepower, and this is to be accompanied by an extensive weight-saving program shedding up to 150 pounds from the car’s kerb weight.
Pictured below, is the “Laboratorio Tecnologico 599xx”, an even more extreme experimental car based on the 599, which is unfortunately less likely to ever see the light.

The New 2010 Lamborghini Reventon Roadster

Lamborghini presents the ultimate driving machine among open-top two-seaters – theLamborghini Reventon Roadster is a sports car of breathtaking fascination, menacing power and uncompromising performance. The 6.5 litre twelve-cylinder generates 493 kW (670 PS), catapulting the Roadster from 0 to 62 mph in 3.4 seconds and onwards to a top speed of 205 mph. The open-top Lamborghini Reventon is not only one of the fastest, but also one of the most exclusive cars in the world – Lamborghini has limited the series.

The powerful arrowhead form at the front, the mighty air intakes pulled way forward, the broad side skirts, the upwards opening scissor doors and the rear end with its menacing edges – the Roadster is clad in a design of maximum functionality and spectacular clarity. Details set stylish accents, such as headlamps featuring bi-xenon units with LEDs forming the daytime running lights and indicators. The rear lamps are also equipped with LEDs.

Behind the two seats are two hidden pop-up bars that deploy upwards in just a few hundredths of a second in the event of an imminent rollover. A fixed, horizontal wing-shaped member behind the seats bears the third brake light.
The driver can switch between two modes at the touch of a button – one digital view with illuminated bars and one level with classic round dials, albeit with changing colour graphics. Centrally located at the top of the display is the G-force meter. It represents the intensity of the forces acting on the Lamborghini Reventon Roadster under acceleration, braking and heavy cornering; the same format used in Formula 1.
The instruments are mounted in a casing machined from solid aluminium which is housed in a carbon fibre dashboard. The interior displays uncompromisingly clean craftsmanship and features a host of carbon fibre applications – e.g. on the centre tunnel – aluminium, Alcantara and leather. The central panels and the seat cushions are perforated, with precision stitching gracing their outer edges.
The V12 engine catapults the Lamborghini Reventon Roadster from 0 to 100 km/h (0 to 62 mph) in 3.4 seconds and onwards to a top speed of 330 km/h (205 mph). It reacts with the eagerness of a racing engine to input from the right foot, revving to 8,000 rpm and beyond, and performing a symphony that sends shudders along the spine. The deep booming bass, the powerful mid-range and the exultant horn section play music that, once heard, can never be forgotten.
In classic Lamborghini style, the aluminium engine is mounted longitudinally in front of the rear axle, with the transmission ahead of it beneath the centre tunnel. This layout results in 58 percent of the overall weight being borne by the rear wheels – ideal for a powerful sports car.
Also standard on the Lamborghini Reventon Roadster is the e.gear automated six-speed sequential manual transmission. The driver controls the gear shift, which is activated hydraulically via two steering wheel paddles. In addition to the ‘Normal’ mode, the system offers a ‘Corsa’ and a ‘low adherence’ mode. The driver just has to keep his foot to the floor – the rest is handled by e.gear.

2012 BMW 6 Series Convertible

BMW’s new generation 6 Series Convertible has been spotted in rural Pennsylvania, and its similarities to the BMW 6 Series Coupe Concept unveiled at the Paris Motor Show are there for all to see.
The new 6 Convertible features the shorter overhangs and wider fender flares than the current model, with dimensions that slot it nicely between the new 5 Series and the 7 Series. The corona ring headlights seen in the new 6-Series Coupe are also retained for the Convertible. The taillights are smaller than the outgoing version and feature the L-shaped LEDs. Although first reports were claiming a hardtop 6 Series Cabrio, all the latest information we received thus far point towards a conventional soft top.
The new BMW 6 Series will feature a combination of diesel and petrol offerings. The top of the range diesel model will be the 640d, powered by the N57 turbocharged straight-6 common rail diesel engine outputting 306 horsepower. The 650i will be the highest offering powered by the 4.4 liter V8 Twin-turbo engine found in the other 50i models – until the new M6 of course. The first U.S. 2011 6 Series model will debut in March of next year in the form of BMW 650i Convertible.

2010 Mercedes SLR McLaren

The Mercedes SLR is already out of production, but like all the good cars out there, the interest for it is still very high. And since there were only 1500 units produced, we can see why. The car looks amazing straight from the factory, but even small changes can make the car look even more fabulous.
The German tuner, Rensson, is offering just that with a series of exterior changes that make the SLR look like a "black devil." The package includes the bodykit from the Mansory Renovatio for a more brutal appearance and is combined with enormous slippers from Project Kahn. Next to those changes, the tuner is also offering side air intakes and a new carbon fiber interior with Alcantara inlays.
As for the engine, the 626 HP V8 supercharged engine is just more than enough for a supercar like this. The sprint from 0 to 60 mph is still made in 3.8 seconds and top speed is 207 mph.
